Prospective graduate students
The laboratory will be accepting rotation students for the Fall semester of 2022. Please e-mail Tatyana Igumenova ([email protected]) directly to discuss potential rotations and research opportunities.
Postdoctoral position available: BIOPHYSICS AND STRUCTURAL BIOLOGY OF PROTEIN-MEMBRANE SYSTEMS
The project will make use of NMR, X-ray crystallography, atomistic Molecular Dynamics (MD) simulations, and eventually cryoEM to uncover the molecular mechanisms of protein recruitment to membranes. The focus is specifically on protein systems that are involved in signal transduction at the membrane surface and whose dysregulation is implicated in human disease. This position is ideal for applicants who would like to learn how to synergistically combine computational and experimental approaches to achieve atomic-level description of complex biomolecular systems and gain insight into mechanisms of signal transduction.
Highly desirable skills include: proficiency in one of the structural biology techniques (NMR, X-ray crystallography, or cryoEM) and/or fluorescence spectroscopy; experience in using Python for scientific software programming; and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in chemistry, physics, biochemistry, or a related field. Salary is commensurate with experience. The applicants should send their CV, the names of three referees, and representative publications to [email protected].
